Tuna Coconut Curry Sauce

Ingredients for Tuna

  • 4 pieces of 12 oz steaks approximately 3 pounds of Tuna steaks, cut into 1.5 inch squares

  • 2 Tablespoons EssieSpice Mekko Dry Rub

  • 3 tablespoons Coconut Oil

  • Pinch of Salt

 

Ingredients for Sauce

  • 1 cup sliced shallots

  • 1 cup Sliced Carrots

  • 1 cup bean sprouts

  • 2 Cups sliced bell peppers

  • 2 Tablespoons ground fresh ginger

  • 2 Tablespoons ground garlic

  • 3 Cups Sliced sweet onions

  • 3 Tablespoons EssieSpice Coco-For-Garlic Sauce

  • Pinch of Curry Powder

Preparation for Tuna Coconut Curry Sauce

  1. Season steaks with salt and EssieSpice Mekko Dry Rub. Make sure Seasoning covers all sides and allow to rest for 10 minutes

  2. Sear steaks on a hot skillet with coconut oil on medium to high heat for 30 seconds on each side. Place aside to rest and get ready for sauce

  3. In a large pan, pour Coconut Oil and put on medium to high heat

  4. Add ginger, garlic, shallots and onions and cook until onions are tender and almost brown

  5. Add EssieSpice Coco-For-Garlic Sauce, Coconut Cream and Coconut Milk. If you’d like your sauce to be lighter you can add 1/2 cup of water or Broth and stir

  6. Serve with Couscous, Rice, Yams, Potatoes, Naan or Quinoa.
