Steak Dinner with Caramelized Onions


  • 1 Pound skirt steak or rib eye steak, sliced thinly
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon EssieSpice Mango Chili Medley
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 1/2 stick of butter
  • 1 large onion. Sliced thinly in rounds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander - ground
  • 2 tablespoons of light soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons of oil



  • In a large mixing bowl, put the steak and add peanut butter, salt and pepper, coriander, soy sauce, oil and EssieSpice Mango Chili Medley
  • Mix all together and allow this to marinate for at least 20-30 minutes
  • In another saucepan, add butter and some oil
  • Once heated add sliced red onions and sautée for about 15 minutes, stirring continuously so the onions and soft and translucent
  • Remove and set aside. Now pan sear the marinated steak with a bit of oil for about a minute on each side so not to overcook steak
  • Serve with rice
